Privacy Policy
TL;DR
Brick Pals has no accounts and no ads. Your pal, its name and your settings stay on your device. We use Firebase Analytics, without your advertising ID, to learn how the app is used, and you can turn it off in the app. Purchases go through the App Store or Google Play, and RevenueCat manages them with an anonymous ID. Contact us at hey@visnalize.com with any question.
Visnalize ("we", "us", "our") makes the Brick Pals app for iPhone and Android (the "Service"). This page explains what information the Service collects, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. By using the Service, you agree to this policy.
Information we collect
Usage information
The app uses Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used. It records a small set of events:
- adopting a pal (which pal you chose),
- feeding and playing (and whether you tapped in the app or on a widget),
- your pal reaching a new stage,
- finishing or skipping the intro screens,
- opening the Pro screen, starting and finishing a purchase (which plan), and restoring purchases.
Firebase also collects device information (such as device model, operating system and app version), an app instance ID, and your approximate location based on your IP address. The app does not collect your device's advertising ID (IDFA on iPhone, advertising ID on Android), does not ask to track you, and does not share this information with ad networks.
You can turn this off. Switch off Share usage data on the Pro screen or in Settings. The app then stops sending usage information.
On iPhone, the app also uses Firebase Remote Config to receive a few settings from our server, such as whether the pal animates in widgets.
Purchases
Brick Pals Pro is sold as a subscription or a one-time purchase, processed by the App Store or Google Play. We use RevenueCat to manage purchases. RevenueCat receives your purchase history and an anonymous app user ID. We never receive your name, email address or payment card details.
Information that stays on your device
- Your pal, its name, its care history, and your settings are stored only on your device. They are not sent to us. Deleting the app deletes them.
- Widgets, the outing (iPhone) and the live wallpaper (Android) read your pal from the app's storage on your device. The battery widget reads your battery level on your device.
- Share cards and wallpapers. On iPhone, the app saves them to your photos only when you ask, and needs permission to add photos for that. It cannot read your photos. Sharing a card opens your phone's share sheet; you choose where it goes.
- Icon pack (Android). To let you pick which app an icon opens, the app reads the list of apps on your home screen. This list is never sent to us.
How we use information
We use the information above to:
- provide the Service, including purchases and restoring them,
- understand how the app is used and improve it,
- respond to your messages.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not show ads.
Service providers
We use these third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy:
- Google Firebase (Analytics, and Remote Config on iPhone)
- RevenueCat
- Google Play and the App Store, which process your purchases
Data retention and deletion
- Data on your device is deleted when you delete the app, or when you choose Start over in Settings (this removes your pal).
- Analytics data is kept according to Firebase's retention settings and is not linked to your name or email.
- Purchase records are kept by the App Store, Google Play and RevenueCat so that you can restore your purchases.
- To ask us to delete any data that we hold about you, email hey@visnalize.com.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or move your personal data, or to object to how we use it. To use these rights, contact us.
Security
Data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS). No method of storage or sending data over the internet is fully secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children's privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe that a child under 13 has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page. Changes take effect when they are posted.
